Key Purpose

 As the Commercial Solutions Director, you will be an integral member of the bid team. You will be involved in the bid processes from inception, to transition, and go-live. Your vision and knowledge of operations will drive the delivery of the client solution, from the management and organizational structure, to the method of FM delivery, the choice of technologies, along with the supporting supply chain. Collaborating with subject matter experts and our exceptional bid management and creative team, you will build winning client solutions.  

Your visionary leadership will directly influence our strategic direction and commercial success. 

Key Accountabilities 

  • Review and analyze client RFI and RFP requirements 
  • Work with subject matter experts (including sales, finance, service line experts, and People & Culture) to compile value propositions 
  • Attend client sites to review portfolio requirements and build client relationships
  • Guide sales leads on strategy and the compilation of clarification questions
  • Prepare for and attend client presentations and yellow-pad sessions, acting as the golden thread between sales and operations
  • Oversee the creation and management of proposals, bids, and pricing strategies that optimize profitability
  • Develop and execute commercial strategies aligned with company goals, driving revenue growth, and market expansion
  • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, client-centric solutions that meet and exceed market expectations
  • Cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and partners, fostering long-term partnerships and client retention
  • Identify market opportunities, conduct competitive analysis, and leverage insights to enhance our commercial offering 
  • Drive continuous improvement through analysis of market trends, customer feedback, and operational performance
  • Mentor and develop team members, promoting a culture of innovation, accountability, and professional growth 
  • Support the sales lead in securing internal stakeholder and governance approvals, in respect of each client proposal
  • Ensure the successful handover of a facility management solution to operations 
  • Provide support to operations during handovers to address any operational challenges or questions
  • Facilitate feedback sessions with the operations team to gather insights and improve future solutions

 Ideal Candidate Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in commercial strategy, business development, operations or solutions management, within the facilities management sector. Experience within the office/technology/aviation and/or pharmaceutical environment would be beneficial
  • Demonstrated success in leading commercial initiatives and achieving measurable business growth
  • Exceptional analytical and strategic planning abilities
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to influence at all organizational levels
  • Experience in managing and developing high-performing teams
  • Proficient in compiling optimal organizational structures and operational solutions to meet client requirements, whilst optimizing efficiencie
  • Ability to collate and incorporate market analysis, competitive intelligence, and commercial modeling into client facing solutions

 Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Requires constant sitting for long periods of time
  • Requires ability to work under stress and meet deadlines
  • Requires ability to travel up to 40% (within the United States) subject to client needs
  • Requires the ability to lift/move/carry up to 25 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions

ISS offers full-time employees a variety of benefits, including medical, dental, life, and disability insurance, as well as a comprehensive leave program based on employment status. The annual salary range for this position is $195000 per year - $210000 per year. Final compensation will be determined based on experience and skills and may vary from the above range.
