AV Manager


Key Purpose

The AV Manager will work with the events team to ensure efficient AV operations with high-touch hospitality. This role will operate within the network of support teams (Events, IT/AV, Facilities) and will own the intake, coordination, and execution of AV needs for all events within a specified purview. This role will also manage and oversee the existing AV Technician role.

  • Reliable, dependable, and capable of fulfilling obligations with a deep desire to anticipate, engage and satisfy client needs
  • A systematic, high-touch approach to problem-solving
  • Calm, effective delegation skills in a fast-paced, live events setting


Desired Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in audio/visual operations or live event production
  • Advanced knowledge and troubleshooting capabilities for AV equipment technology
  • Meticulous detail in cable routing, connections, and equipment checks
  • Ability to take direction from senior technicians and communicate effectively among team members and supporting teams 


Key Accountabilities

Event Management:

  • Support event intake to understand AV needs, guide clients on best practices to schedule rehearsals and tech checks as needed
  • Partner with Events Manager weekly to coordinate and schedule staff for AV and event coverage
  • Participate in retroactive reviews to measure the impact and resonance of completed events

AV Maintenance:

  • Direct AV Technician and Event Coordinators in providing quality service and effective troubleshooting
  • Ensure best practices for transporting, setting up, testing, cleaning, and maintaining all AV event equipment
  • Maintain inventory records of all equipment and weekly event space inspections


Physical Demands & Work Environments

  • Work up to a minimum of 8 hours a day on your feet, excluding breaks
  • Flexibility to work odd hours including nights and weekends
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 25lbs
  • Come to work properly dressed according to the dress code
  • Must be able to work under pressure and time deadlines during peak periods

The annual salary range for this position is $95000.00  - $95000.00  . Final compensation will be determined based on experience and skills and may vary from the range listed above.
