Work Hours

The work hours for this position are approximately 6:00 am - 2:30 pm, Mon-Fri .


Key Purpose

The Catering Cook (Delivery & Event Support) is responsible for the preparation, execution, and delivery of catering orders, ensuring high-quality food production, timely service, and professional on-site presentation. This role supports all aspects of catering operations including food preparation, transportation, setup, and breakdown while maintaining ISS/Guckenheimer standards for food safety, quality, and client experience.


Key Responsibilities


Food Production & Preparation

  • Prepare and execute catering menu items according to standardized recipes and production sheets
  • Ensure all food is produced to quality, portion, and presentation standards
  • Complete daily prep lists and catering production in a timely and organized manner
  • Maintain proper labeling, dating, and storage of all food items
  • Catering Delivery & Execution
  • Safely transport catering orders to on-site and off-site locations
  • Ensure accuracy of all orders prior to departure (food, beverages, paper goods, equipment)
  • Set up catering displays in a clean, organized, and visually appealing manner
  • Execute timely delivery and adhere to scheduled service times
  • Break down and return equipment as needed
  • Client Interaction & Service
  • Represent Guckenheimer in a professional and courteous manner during all catering interactions
  • Communicate effectively with clients and team members to ensure successful event execution
  • Respond to basic client needs during setup and escalate issues as appropriate


Food Safety & Sanitation

  • Follow all HACCP guidelines, food safety, and sanitation standards
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Ensure safe food handling during transport and service (temperature control, proper packaging)
  • Operational Support
  • Assist with inventory organization and stocking of catering supplies
  • Support kitchen operations as needed during non-catering periods
  • Communicate product shortages, equipment needs, or operational challenges to leadership
  • Participate in team meetings and support overall café and catering operations


Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of culinary or food service experience (catering experience preferred)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Clean and safe DMV driving record 
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and stand for extended periods
  • Work Environment
  • Fast-paced kitchen and event environment
  • Combination of kitchen production and off-site event support
  • Flexible schedule based on catering needs (early mornings and occasional extended hours)
  • This role requires a valid Driver's License and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check, as operating a company vehicle is an essential responsibility in this position.
