Digital Learning Content Specialist


Key Purpose

ISS North America is seeking a Digital Learning Content Expert with strong instructional design capabilities to join our regional Learning and Development team. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in designing and developing high-impact, multi-lingual, digital learning solutions that meet the diverse needs of our North American workforce.


Success Criteria:

Digital Learning Content Specialist:

  • Develop engaging and effective digital learning content across multiple modalities (e.g., e-learning modules, microlearning and/or virtual instructor-led training).
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to analyze learning needs and translate them into clear learning objectives and outcomes.
  • Ensure all content is current, accurate, and aligned with industry best practices and organizational goals.

Instructional Design Expertise:

  • Apply sound instructional design principles to assess learning needs, design learning objectives, create content outlines, storyboards, and design documents.
  • Implement interactive and engaging strategies that cater to diverse learner needs and preferences to enhance learner retention and application of knowledge.


Project Management:

  • Manage end-to-end project lifecycles for content development initiatives, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope.


Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and teams to understand their learning objectives and requirements, gather insights, and ensure content relevance and accuracy.
  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams including Learning & Development team members, People & Culture partners, Technical Specialists and Subject Matter Experts to deliver integrated learning solutions.


Ideal Candidate Experience:

  • Expert proficiency in educational pedagogy (with specific emphasis in Adult Learning) and instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE), etc.
  • Expert proficiency in rapid digital development tools and video editing (e.g., Vyond, Canva, Articulate 360, Camtasia, Adobe Creative Cloud suite of products). 
  • Basic proficiency in learning management systems (LMS).
  • Expert awareness of emerging trends in digital learning technologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly. Bilingual skills are significantly desired.
  • Creative thinking with a passion for innovation, growth and continuous improvement.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and under tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to identifying and tracking learning needs.
  • Strong stakeholder management and a regional mindset with the ability to work effectively in a diverse/multicultural environment and across geographically dispersed teams.


Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study (digital design, instructional design, educational technology, psychology, education or a related field). Master’s degree preferred.
  • Submission of a robust electronic portfolio demonstrating your individual and expert implementation and use of rapid digital development tools, educational pedagogy, collaboration with subject matter experts, etc. At least five diverse examples of your previous personal work/content/digital development should be included. 


Desired Qualifications & Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in education/instructional design and digital content development. Experience in a global or regional organization is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in digital design, instructional design, educational technology, psychology, education or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Certifications in instructional design, e-learning and micro-learning methodologies are advantageous.
  •  Bilingual (verbal and writing skills) in English and Spanish or French Canadian.
  • Ability to facilitate in-person and virtual training opportunities for a regional audience.

 

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Requires constant sitting for long periods of time
  •  Requires ability to work under stress and meet deadlines
  • Requires ability to travel 15% - 20%
  • Requires ability to lift/move/carry up to 25 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions



ISS offers full time employees a variety of benefits including medical, dental, life and disability insurance, as well as a comprehensive leave program based on employment status. The annual salary range for this position is $85000 per year- $95000 per year. Final compensation will be determined based on experience and skills, and may vary from the range listed above.
