Hourly Wage

Work Hours
The work hours for this position are Mon-Fri, 6:00 am - 2:00 pm.
Key Purpose
The Discard Technician must be dependable and safety-conscious as they support our Client’s disposal operations. In this role, you will be responsible for properly discarding intravenous (IV) products that are deemed unusable. The position involves manual labor, including opening boxes, disposing of IV bags, and managing recyclable materials such as cardboard. This is an outdoor position that requires physical stamina and attention to detail.

Ideal Candidate Experience
- Related GMP manufacturing experience is preferred
- Knowledge of basic chemical and biological safety procedures is a plus
- Ability to read, write, speak English, and communicate effectively
- Should possess basic math skills
- Understand that safety is a top priority and comply with all safety rules, policies, and procedures
- Must be a team player and committed to working in a quality environment
- Demonstrates exceptional customer service skills
- Prior experience in warehouse, recycling, or waste management preferred
- Basic understanding of safety procedures and equipment operation
Key Accountabilities
- Safely open and unpack boxes containing IV bags marked for disposal
- Discard IV bags into designated hoppers for shredding
- Operate or assist with the operation of shredding and baling equipment
- Bale and stack cardboard boxes for recycling
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow all safety protocols and company procedures
- Perform routine checks to ensure all discarded items meet compliance and safety standards
- Assist with additional tasks as directed by supervisor

- Must be able to push and pull up to 100 pounds (with the assistance of material handling equipment)
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 10 to 50 pounds
- Frequently lift 0-10 pounds
- Must be able to work under pressure and time deadlines during peak periods
- This position requires working outdoors in a physically active role
- Exposure to varying weather conditions, dust, and noise is expected
- Use of protective gear and adherence to safety guidelines is required
