 Work Hours  

The work hours for this position are Mon - Fri + Weekends, 4:00 pm - 12:00 am.

ISS Guckenheimer is looking for an experienced Weekend Night Cook to support evening and weekend meal service. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on cooking, prefers a weekend/night schedule, and wants to work in a professional culinary environment. 

You’ll help prepare fresh, high-quality meals, complete daily prep and production, maintain a clean and safe kitchen, and support the culinary team throughout service.

What You’ll Do 

  • Prepare and cook food for daily meal service, special events, and catered functions  
  • Complete assigned prep lists and food-production tasks accurately and efficiently  
  • Follow recipes, production sheets, and direction from culinary leadership  
  • Use proper cooking and preparation techniques to maintain quality and consistency  
  • Safely operate commercial kitchen equipment, including slicers, mixers, food processors, blenders, and choppers  
  • Keep workstations, equipment, and kitchen areas clean, organized, and sanitized  
  • Follow all food-safety, HACCP, sanitation, workplace-safety, and company procedures  
  • Monitor ingredient availability and communicate shortages or concerns to management  
  • Report food-safety, equipment, or operational issues requiring management attention  
  • Work collaboratively with the culinary team to keep service running smoothly  
  • Attend required team meetings  
  • Perform additional duties as assigned  



What We’re Looking For 

  • At least 1 year of professional cooking experience or equivalent culinary education  
  • Basic knowledge of cooking and food-preparation techniques  
  • Experience in a restaurant, cafeteria, hotel, catering operation, corporate dining environment, or other professional kitchen preferred  
  • Comfortable working independently during evening and weekend hours  
  • Able to follow recipes, production sheets, and kitchen procedures  
  • Strong attention to food quality, safety, and sanitation  
  • Reliable and dependable  
  • Works well as part of a team  
  • Able to stay organized and productive during busy meal periods  



The Physical Side of the Job 

This is an active, hands-on kitchen position. You should be comfortable: 

  • Standing for long periods of time, up to approximately 8 hours  
  • Bending, reaching, stooping, pushing, and pulling  
  • Frequently lifting up to 35 pounds  
  • Using team lifts, carts, and other assistance when handling heavier loads  
  • Working under pressure and meeting service deadlines during peak periods  
  • Safely operating commercial kitchen equipment  
  • Safely operating a mid-sized company delivery van or truck when required
