Kitchen Supervisor
Key Purpose
As a Food Supervisor, you are the on-the-ground leader and brand representative for ISS Guckenheimer, your team, and the client. You are responsible for leading daily culinary and operational execution with a strong focus on team support, consistency, and service excellence.
This role ensures all operations are delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with client expectations, regulatory standards, and company guidelines—while fostering a positive, accountable, and high-performing team culture.
Success Criteria

- Ensure consistent execution of food quality, presentation, and service standards across all meal periods
- Maintain full compliance with food safety, HACCP, and sanitation standards with zero critical violations
- Deliver efficient labor deployment through effective scheduling, coverage planning, and real-time floor leadership
- Resolve guest and client concerns promptly, professionally, and with a solution-oriented approach
- Drive team engagement, retention, and development through training, recognition, and clear communication
- Maintain operational readiness—ensuring stations are set, stocked, and prepared for service at all times
- Support financial performance through proper portioning, waste reduction, and cost awareness
- Foster strong cross-functional collaboration with BOH, FOH, and support teams
Ideal Candidate Experience
- Culinary Arts degree preferred
- Experience in a high-volume food service or hospitality environment
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and HACCP standards
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop teams in a fast-paced setting
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with team members, clients, and guests
- Understanding of merchandising, menu presentation, and guest experience
Key Accountabilities
Team Leadership & Development
- Supervise, coach, and support team members to ensure consistent performance and professional growth
- Lead daily pre-shift meetings, communicate expectations, and align the team on priorities
- Support training of new employees to ensure successful integration
- Provide ongoing feedback, recognition, and corrective coaching when needed
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and respect
Operational Execution
- Oversee daily kitchen and service operations to ensure seamless execution and guest satisfaction
- Ensure all food is prepared, presented, and served according to established recipes and standards
- Monitor service flow and step in as needed to support the team during peak periods
- Maintain proper inventory levels, ordering, and product rotation (FIFO)
Food Safety & Compliance
- Ensure strict adherence to all food safety, sanitation, and HACCP guidelines
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inspection-ready kitchen at all times
- Enforce workplace safety standards and ensure proper use of equipment
Customer & Client Engagement
- Represent ISS Guckenheimer in a professional and service-focused manner
- Support Front Of House to enhance the experience
- Address and resolve service issues quickly, ensuring a positive outcome
Financial & Administrative Support
- Support cost control through proper portioning, waste management, and labor efficiency
- Assist with scheduling, timekeeping accuracy, and labor compliance
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours per day, excluding breaks
- Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure and time constraints
- Maintain professional appearance and adhere to dress code standards

ISS offers full time employees a variety of benefits including medical, dental, life and disability insurance, as well as a comprehensive leave program based on employment status. The annual salary range for this position is $26.91 - $29.00 . Final compensation will be determined based on experience and skills and may vary from the range listed above.
