L&D Trainer
Key Purpose
The Trainer is responsible for assessing needs to drive training initiatives and identifying, developing, delivering, and sustaining engaging training programs that enhance employee skills, improve retention, and elevate service quality at a pharmaceutical site. Working in close partnership with the People & Culture Business Partner, this role supports account & site leadership and consults with corporate Learning & Development as needed to implement programs that align with business goals while reflecting ISS’s culture and values.
The Trainer leads without formal authority, influencing through expertise, coaching, and collaboration. In addition, the Trainer evaluates training effectiveness through performance metrics, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives and maintaining high-quality standards in instructional design and delivery. Acting as a trusted partner to managers and employees, this role ensures training not only meets compliance and regulatory requirements but also strengthens engagement, inspires performance, and helps our people see the connection between their daily work and patient safety.

Key Areas of Collaboration and Influence
- Partner with People & Culture, Quality, and Operations to design and deliver training programs that meet both regulatory and business needs.
- Build strong working relationships with managers and employees, serving as a resource and coach on training, onboarding, and development.
- Influence without authority by engaging stakeholders, presenting data, and advocating for effective training solutions.
- Share best practices across sites and functions, contributing to ISS’s broader learning culture.
- Represent ISS’s People & Culture function as a trusted collaborator with site leadership teams.
Ideal Candidate Experience
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Instructional Design, Learning & Development, Human Resources, Education, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience designing and delivering training programs in a corporate, operational, or regulated environment with experience training operators on structured, standardized SOPs
- Strong understanding of adult learning theory, instructional design best practices, and behavior-change methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver training in multiple formats: instructor-led, small group, virtual, and large-scale sessions.
- Experience conducting needs assessments and evaluating program effectiveness.
- Proficiency in creating digital learning content (including microlearning with a social media aesthetic).
- LMS administration experience preferred.
- Strong facilitation, coaching, and consultative skills.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and working in a matrixed environment.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish strongly preferred.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams).
Key Accountabilities
- Assess training needs and develop strategies that align with site, account, and corporate objectives.
- Design, deliver, and continuously improve training programs that enhance employee skills, engagement, and retention.
- Facilitate onboarding programs for all new hires, ensuring a smooth and engaging transition into ISS.
- Deliver ISS GMP Academy training and become GMP cleaning certified in customer SOPs to train new employees and provide continuous improvement refresher training for new and existing employees.
- Ensure all training content is accurate, engaging, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
- Measure training effectiveness through feedback, performance data, and compliance metrics; adjust content as needed.
- Partner with managers and employees to support career development and continuous learning.
- Serve as an advocate for corporate learning initiatives, ensuring site and account alignment with broader ISS programs.
- Create and execute communication strategies to elevate awareness and participation in training opportunities.
- Support audit readiness through accurate training documentation and recordkeeping.
- Actively participate in site and account initiatives that strengthen employee experience, service quality, and patient safety.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Requires sitting for long periods of time.
- Ability to travel 20–30% as required.
- Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
- Must be able to lift/move/carry up to 25 pounds when required.
- Requires gowning and adherence to GMP protocols when entering controlled spaces.

ISS offers full time employees a variety of benefits including medical, dental, life and disability insurance, as well as a comprehensive leave program based on employment status. The annual salary range for this position is $86000.00 - $97000.00 . Final compensation will be determined based on experience and skills and may vary from the range listed above.
