Category Manager Procurement Manager


The Purpose

The Category Manager will lead the strategic procurement process for selected Integrated Facility Management (IFM) categories to connect operational imperatives with optimized suppliers and supply chain processes. The Category Manager will take a broad, holistic view of issues and opportunities, anticipating future implications, with a clear recognition of the key business success factors, and the levers that can be used to impact top and bottom-line growth. Reporting to the Director of Category Management - North America, the successful candidate will have significant understanding of and experience in leading in the highly complex world of the IFM spend, to include but not limited to soft services (landscaping, snow removal, pest control, janitorial, office services, etc.), hard services (HVAC, MEP, UPS, generators, etc.), and other categories (temp labor, MRO, etc.) as needed. The Category Manager will have demonstrated success at operational excellence, understanding the strategic and operational challenges inherent in such an undertaking.

The successful candidate will be able to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. This includes cross-functional teams such as Client Accounts, Finance, HR, Global Supply Chain & Procurement, Operations Performance, and Commercial. It will be important to have demonstrated the ability to work effectively across a hands-on, entrepreneurial organization. The Category Manager respects a thoughtful, structure approach in planning and decision making while demonstrating an appropriate sense of urgency.


Essential Functions

  •  Exceptional leadership abilities to lead and coordinate global supply chain strategies and drive value on a $200M+ annual spend.
  • Establish and lead the execution of the sourcing strategies for the key spends under our IFM categories.
  • Work with the Directors of Procurement, Head of Supply Chain and Procurement and other leaders of the needed on strategic development initiatives; provide ongoing leadership for these initiatives.
  • Participate in developing and ensuring business analytics and reporting is established for targeted areas of responsibility.
  • Project management leadership which will include overseeing and ensuring quality delivery of assigned projects; collect, measure, report and communicate progress with key stakeholders.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  •  Bachelor’s degree required - IFM industry experience preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience with a demonstrated ability to successfully navigate global complex organizations and strategic sourcing. Outstanding leadership skills with an ability to influence and gain alignment in a matrix environment.
  • Experience in leading in a highly ambiguous and complex environment with a key skill of driving simplicity.
  • Experience in leading initiatives impacting external client facing teams and functions.
  • Strong ability to create strategic supplier partnerships that creates a competitive advantage.
  • Strong experience in sourcing strategy creation and execution (e.g. 7 Step sourcing).
  • Expertise in conducting complex analyses and distilling into a clear, concise business action.
  • Strong facilitation and project management skills.
  • Strong ability to interface with all levels, departments and Operating Companies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

ISS offers full time employees a variety of benefits including medical, dental, life and disability insurance, as well as a comprehensive leave program based on employment status. The annual salary range for this position is $105000 per year - $125000 per year Final compensation will be determined based on experience and skills and may vary from the range listed above.
