Project Manager – Facilities & Infrastructure (Aviation)
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly capable Project Manager – Facilities & Infrastructure to lead and manage a broad portfolio of facility-related projects at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). This role is responsible for prospecting, managing, and delivering CapEx and OpEx projects across all facility systems, including MEP, building envelope, interiors, life safety, and infrastructure improvements, within a live aviation environment.
The ideal candidate is an experienced, hands-on project leader who can manage complex work in an active facility, coordinate multiple trades and stakeholders, and support business growth through strong client relationships and opportunity development.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Execution
- Lead end-to-end delivery of facility and infrastructure projects, including MEP, building systems, interior renovations, life safety upgrades, and general facility improvements
- Manage projects from concept and scoping through execution and closeout
- Deliver both CapEx and OpEx projects, ensuring minimal disruption to airport operations
- Coordinate contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and internal teams across multiple trades
- Manage schedules, logistics, phasing plans, and work sequencing in a live airport environment
- Ensure all work complies with airport authority requirements, codes, permits, and safety standards
Business Development & Prospecting
- Identify and prospect new facility and infrastructure project opportunities within the JFK environment
- Partner with operations and leadership to develop scopes of work, budgets, estimates, and proposals
- Support client engagement and relationship management to drive repeat and expanded business
- Assist in forecasting future CapEx and OpEx opportunities tied to facility needs and lifecycle planning
Financial & Contract Management
- Develop and manage project budgets, cost tracking, and financial reporting
- Monitor project performance, margins, and risk; proactively manage change orders
- Review contracts, vendor proposals, invoices, and closeout documentation
- Support monthly and quarterly financial forecasting
Stakeholder & Client Coordination
- Act as a primary point of contact for airport stakeholders, clients, consultants, and internal teams
- Coordinate work with airport operations, engineering, safety, and security teams
- Lead project meetings, site walks, and executive updates
- Ensure clear communication and documentation across all phases of work
Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Champion a safety-first culture in a high-risk, highly regulated aviation environment
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, airport, and company safety standards
- Maintain quality control standards and ensure work meets design and operational requirements
Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years of experience managing facility, infrastructure, or construction projects
- Strong working knowledge of MEP systems, building systems, and general facility construction
- Proven experience managing CapEx and OpEx projects
- Experience working in active facilities (airports, transit hubs, hospitals, large campuses, data centers, etc.)
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to work onsite at JFK Airport
- Proficiency in project management tools and Microsoft Office
- This role requires a valid Driver's License and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check, as operating a company vehicle is an essential responsibility in this position.
Preferred
- Aviation or large infrastructure experience
- PMP or equivalent project management certification
- Experience with estimating, proposal development, and opportunity prospecting
- Familiarity with union environments and multi-trade coordination
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in an office setting as well as in various facility environments.
- May require lifting, carrying, or moving equipment and materials occasionally.
- Frequent travel within the assigned region.

The annual salary range for this position is $120000.00 - $150000.00 . Final compensation will be determined based on experience and skills and may vary from the range listed above.
