Senior Health & Safety Manager
Key Purpose
The Multi‑Site Account HSE Lead provides strategic and operational leadership for Health, Safety and Environment across a complex, multi‑location client account. The role is accountable for embedding a strong HSE culture, ensuring legal and contractual compliance, driving continuous improvement, and aligning site‑level execution with global, corporate, client and regulatory requirements.
Acting as the senior HSE authority for the account, the role partners closely with account leadership, site operations, client stakeholders and functional specialists to translate business objectives into effective, standardized HSE programs that improve efficiencies and increases standardization of working practices across the account.
Key Deliverables
- Account HSE strategy and annual improvement plan
- Site HSE compliance plans and risk registers
- Management reporting and performance dashboards
- Completed audits, inspections and corrective action plans
- Effective incident investigations and trend analysis
- Demonstrable improvement in safety culture and outcomes
- Implementing Corporate and local initiatives in alignment with account and client requirements and additional duties as assigned
Key Accountabilities
- Leadership & Culture
- Act as the visible HSE leader for the account, promoting a proactive, data‑based and
- behavioral safety culture.
- Influence senior operational and client leadership to integrate HSE into decision‑making and
- Service delivery.
Governance, Compliance & Risk
- Ensure compliance with all applicable HSE legislation, client standards, contractual requirements and company policies.
- Maintain and continuously improve the Account HSE Management System, aligned to ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 where applicable.
- Oversee site risk registers, legal registers, compliance plans and corrective action management.
- Provide inspection and audit readiness support for client, internal and regulatory assessments.
- Operational Assurance
- Lead and oversee HSE audits, inspections and site observations; ensure timely close‑out of findings.
- Review work processes, permits, contractor controls and safe systems of work to ensure risks are appropriately managed.
- Support operational teams with practical solutions to HSE challenges in dynamic, high‑risk or mission‑critical environments.
Incident Management & Performance
- Oversee investigation of incidents, near misses and non‑conformances, ensuring effective root cause analysis and CAPA implementation.
- Monitor, analyze and report on HSE performance metrics (e.g. LTIR, RIR, training compliance, audit scores).
- Identify trends and lead targeted improvement initiatives to enhance performance and reduce risk.
Strategy, Improvement & Standardization
- Develop and deliver an account‑level HSE strategy and systems improvement roadmap aligned to business objectives.
- Drive standardization of HSE processes, tools and reporting across all sites while respecting local regulatory requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce cost and enhance service quality through better risk management and system maturity.
Stakeholder & Client Engagement
- Maintain strong working relationships with client HSE teams, regulators, partners, internal and external cross functional business partners.
- Provide clear, professional advice on HSE risks, legal changes and best practices.
- Support account transitions, mobilizations, acquisitions or contract refreshes, ensuring HSE requirements are embedded from day one.
Data, Training & Systems
- Ensure accurate, timely management of HSE data within approved systems (e.g. incident reporting, audits, risk assessments, training).
- Identify training needs across the account; support delivery and verification of role‑based and statutory training.
Experience, Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Engineering or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- 8+ years HSE experience in large, multi‑site, complex operations or facilities management environments
- Strong working knowledge of HSE legislation and regulatory frameworks
- Proven experience leading HSE programs across multiple locations
- Demonstrated ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels
- Excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to effectively communicate complex issues and resolve concerns with sensitivity within all levels of an organization
- Ability to lead and work with cross-functional teams
Desirable
- Professional HSE qualification (e.g. ASP, CHST, CSP, etc.)
- Lead or Internal Auditor certification for ISO 45001 / 14001 / 9001
- Experience in integrated facilities management, manufacturing, pharma, aviation or mission‑critical environments
- Knowledge of food safety, HACCP, GMP or contractor safety management
Travel & Work Environment
- Regular travel across account sites (approximately 25–40%)
- Combination of office‑based work and operational site exposure
- Ability to work flexibly to support operational and incident response need
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Extended periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Extended periods of walking on premises
- Must be able to work under pressure and time deadlines during peak periods

The annual salary range for this position is $150000.00 - $155000.00 . Final compensation will be determined based on experience and skills and may vary from the range listed above.
