The work hours for this position may include afternoons, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.


Key Purpose

The Server is the representative of ISS Guckenheimer. He/she is responsible for the effective and efficient functioning of pantry offices or executive dining rooms within the guidelines established by the client organization and the corporation. They are further responsible for providing the highest professional standards.

  • Identify service deficiencies and communicate effectively with managers before they become long-term issues
  • Demonstrate customer hospitality and service standards by providing excellent one-on-one customer service

  • Ensure full compliance with Alcohol Awareness Policy

  • Ability to effectively communicate, motivate, and interact with all customers to help build and speak about the culture of Guckenheimer/ISS
  • Develop and maintain good relations with cooks, servers, porters, and managers
  • Greet, smile, make eye contact, and make customers feel welcome


Ideal Candidate Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of customer service experience in fine dining and executive-level service
  • Ability to describe food menus and the preparation of a variety of nonalcoholic and alcoholic drinks
  • Knowledge of food principles and processes for providing customer service
  • Knowledge and skill in standard fine dining service techniques
  • Must be able to work cooperatively with all co-workers, treating them with courtesy and respect always
  • Must act professionally to set an example for all others, even when acting in the capacity of a wait person
  • Must be able to take and organize reservations, use proper phone etiquette, and assign proper seating arrangements as needed
  • Attention to detail
  • Prior knowledge of dining electronic/POS systems


Key Accountabilities

  • To comply with all SERV Safe and HACCP programs and principles
  • Respond to customer concerns professionally and urgently per company policy
  • Must follow all safety rules and be actively aware and observant in the prevention of accidents
  • Commitment to the service values and ethics per company’s standard
  • Maintains all rooms presentation and sanitation standards
  • Substitute for or assist other pantry employees during emergency or rush periods
  • Coordinate with guests to record drink and food orders
  • Maintain inventory of beverage and food merchandise, ensuring it is fully stock throughout the day
  • Assist internal and external guests, place requests and answer inquiries in a friendly manner
  • Ensure proper delivery of orders according to specific timeframes
  • Administer efficient delivery of food and drinks to the dinner table to ensure good dining services
  • Perform side work and end of shift closeout tasks
  • Provide exceptional table service to our customers and maintain the table appearance
  • Portion, arrange, and garnish food, and serve food to patrons
  • Ensure food service set up is clean, neat, and attractive while following the company’s guidelines
  • Completion of additional cleaning and dishwashing assignments.
  • Must follow other duties as assigned


Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Work up to 8 hours a day on your feet, excluding breaks
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 25lbs
  • Come to work properly dressed according to the dress code
  • Employees must be able to work under pressure and time deadlines during peak periods
