Job Description
Key Purpose
The Regional Sustainability Manager will manage sustainability and net zero operations programs across the ISS Americas business operations of our customer, a high-profile, global financial institution.
In this role, you will work as part of a coordinated global team to develop programs to support ISS and customer sustainability and net zero operations targets and lead the implementation of these programs across the Americas region for this customer. You will work closely with country, regional, and global ISS and customer teams and subject matter experts and will be the key customer contact for sustainability for the region.
The role will connect with sustainability leads across the Global ISS team to enable sharing of innovation and best practice, to drive improvements across our customers and ISS own performance.

Key Areas of Collaboration and Influence
- Support the management of quality and assurance programs for the region
- Support client audits
- Develop and maintain a professional and proactive business relationship with client representatives
- Develop and appraise the various tools and systems used by the sustainability team to assist the client in meeting environmental targets and creating an efficient work program
- Promote ISS, develop services, and pursue opportunities to grow the business
Ideal Candidate Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Environmental Sustainability / Management / Science or related subject
- Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. IEMA) is preferred
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in sustainability roles in the Americas
- Skilled at staff engagement and behavior change
- Expertise in understanding and appreciation of a wide range of sustainability and ESG topics to include: supply chain carbon, energy, waste, water, etc.
- Proficient in translating technical facts and figures into business language
- Experience in using industry standard environmental data analysis and reporting platforms
- Knowledge of carbon accounting including supply chain decarbonization
- Knowledge of Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001)
- Commercial awareness, strategic, quantitative, and analytical problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to understand interdependencies among sustainability data and develop business cases
- Experience of working in customer facing roles across complex global organizations
Key Accountabilities
- Define and develop the sustainability and net zero operations program for the region to support customer and ISS sustainability targets and address areas of material impact
- Have oversight of and coordinate work to develop and execute activity to reduce supply chain carbon as part of a larger account Climate Transition Plan
- Work with Subject Matter Experts to facilitate the development and delivery of strategic change programs in the region including the Energy Optimization and Zero Waste programs
- Monitor and report on program activity and progress on environmental targets
- Ensure sustainability is embedded into all aspects of ISS service delivery in the region including technical services, facilities management and curated and on-site colleague experiences
- Support the regional environmental forum to facilitate best practice in regional delivery
- Lead in the development and update of relevant regional sustainability guidance, toolkits and procedures for the region
- Coordinate the collection of regional environmental data, undertake validation and have oversight of submission to the customers data management platform
- Coordinate with ISS SME’s and key customer contacts as required to support the delivery of operational environmental compliance activities by third party providers
Physical Requirements
- Sitting at a computer for extended periods of time
- Travel requirements: 5-10%
- Must be able to work under pressure and time deadlines during peak periods

ISS offers full-time employees a variety of benefits, including medical, dental, life, and disability insurance, as well as a comprehensive leave program based on employment status. The annual salary range for this position is $94000.00 per year - $114000.00 per year. Final compensation will be determined based on experience and skills and may vary from the above range.
